Honestly the 10 free account thing is.. REALLY bare bones. Having someone to tag team with makes the game a whole different experience. Hell I still go back to low end chars just to try things out.
You played City of Heros for a long time, same thing, free trial version is nothing like the full one.

Bad call on the CoH. I enjoyed running around and beating up bad guys. Until it dawned on me that I was doing the same thing over and over and over again, just beating up on mobsters or aliens or whatever.
I honestly need a LOT more story than most of the MMORPG's can give. Hell, I lost interest in the last few Final Fantasy's because there were too many sidequests of "beat on this creature", which were pretty much required so you could get tough enough to beat down the boss.
I don't mind sidequests, they're fun. And MMORPG's could be so much more, but I don't like that the "social atmosphere" is people auctioning stuff. Give me a good ol' Bioware game anyday. Baldur's Gate, KotOR, even Mass Effect. Terrific story that keeps you going, and side quests are just that: Quests. Not, get 10 animal hides for some leather pants.
Meh, that's just my opinion, anyway.

October, just wait for October and Fallout 3 and you and I will have our anti-social game that will keep our attentions focused until 2009.
