Just read THIS over at IGN. Mechwarrior 4 (and all the expansions) will 'soon' be released for free on BattleTech.com. Why the free release? To build up the hype for an Xbox 360/PC MechWarrior video game to be in development. Now, if you excuse me, I need to find a towel.

*stares the screen having not blinked* Matt.... I... I haven't seen a Warhammer in a Mechwarrior game since the very first mechwarrior on floppydisk.
Whatever this game is, whatever platform it is released on I WILL buy it. I don't care how much it costs. I will pilot a Warhammer again.
And if the game has a Warhammer, you know who they've been dealing with don't you? Paladium Industries. That means we might see classics like the Locust, Wasp/Stinger. Pheonix Hawk, Rifleman, Archer and Mauraders come back.
And if Paladium is getting back into comp games.... well then, if this flies like I'm expecting it to. A Rifts game may not be far away either. Ok so I'm reaching, but seeing a Warhammer in action again, even against an Atlas and holding out as long as it did against it, has made me one fucking happy camper tonight.

I wonder if they will jump the systems and bring it out for Wii??
Right now, I am hooked on Force Unleashed and it would be nice to have a new vice.

Mechwarrior's titles have always been Microsoft products. I'm sure that, after a few months of exclusivity on the Xbox, they might* release it for other platforms.
*That's a small chance. Think you'll ever see Mario on anything besides the Wii or God of War on anything but the Playstation?
