After reading this, I'm going to settle down and watch my Robotech DVDs this weekend. I've missed them...

*sigh* Reading this makes me want to run Rifts again. But only if I could run it for a group that doesn't have their collective heads up their butts.

I wouldn't mind playing Rifts or Robotech, but I agree with you Brian, the group would have to realize that there is a "role" portion to the gaming and not just "roll". Rifts is one of those games that can easily fall into munchkinism. When you can have massive battle suits or guys with magical tattoos (personal favorite) that are capable of huge levels of damage.... abuse seems to be lurking around the corner. Not that a True Atlantean Undead Slayer is not a monster or anything... AARRGGHHH!!!! Now I have to go and build a tattoo user.

See, funny thing is, you may have this ubber powerful suit, magic what not.... but a normal person can still take you down if done right. Just remember, you may be good, but someone/thing may be better. Esp if it negates your magic. *coughnegapyschichumancough*
As for Munchkin, no, that's D&D it blew Rifts out of the water years ago.
