Dr. Nielson said of the theory, "Well, one could even almost say that we have a model for God." It is their guess, he went on, "that He rather hates Higgs particles, and attempts to avoid them."

Yeah... we are spending billions on an experiment and the best idea that they could put forth as to why it was not working was that our future selves are sabotaging it. Or that God does not like the Higgs particle.

Does this seem like despiration or what? Next they will be blaming it on little furry creatures that cannot be fed after midnight.

Actually I think its a pretty interesting theory. God knows quantum mechanics and string theory get pretty strange to begin with, and time not being linear is a hard subject to wrap your head around (I know it gives me headaches when I think about it too hard...)

What I find really fascinating about the idea is if they're correct, and the universe is trying to follow the path of least resistance by sabotaging the Collider so it doesn't create Higgs Boson particles, that means they're on the right track, and if they get it up and running it CAN create them.

Of course, the simpler answer is they have a precision built machine the size of a small city, and as anything with too many moving parts, its just a simple series of breakdowns.

If the Universe is trying to stop it.... maybe there is a reason. And why sabotage a machine rather than just have the scientists drop over from strokes or something?

Maybe 'looking upon the face of God' is akin to pushing the reset button... creates a big bang and life and the universe resets... Maybe that is what happened before? Since time is not linear mayb it has/will happen before/again.
