I saw the Fat Cat's website and the store does look really cool. The turnout at the Portal is usually 8-12 so they say.
As it is now, I am going to have to juggle some things around if I want to be able to play Dec 15th. Anne works that night so I might try to get her mom to babysit for us.

Fat Cat's is a pretty rocking store. Sadly, they are now too far away from me to get there easily. I'm actually trying to sell off my Tau with the goal of picking up something else. Possibly Dark Elder or 'Nids. Possibly some Warmachine/Hordes stuff.
Keikan300 and I were talking about doing an Escalation like story/league-ish thing. (So starting with small armies and building.)
As a side note, when you waste the same squad of Necron Warriors three times and they stand back up again each time, it sucks.

Did he pull the trick with the 2 lords with res orbs on you? If so that's the trick I taught him. I can tell you the trick to beating it. Railgun those 2 down stat and suddenly warriors fall a lot easier when you wipe a full squad out each round.

HEY!!!! That's enough advice from you.... you.... you... Nurgle-guy!!! Actually, I had only the one Destroyer Lord for this game. The biggest downfall was that the Necron Gaussflayer cuts down Tau firewarriors without an armor save. I decimated his left flank with three destroyers. I actually felt kinda bad. I know what it is like to watch your army disappear without even a whisper. SO... Brian... interested in an escalation league? I have been looking at the Warhammer stuff and I am getting a painting vibe from the Wood Elves... <slaps self> OK... I'm better now....

Give into your urges.
And come play in escalation Brian. It will help get stuff painted, me thinks.

I have a large Ork boxset... Actual Army boxset with a bunch of extra stuff added. I would love to sell that. If I do, I would dive into the Wood Elves. BUT... I want to sell it first. I cannot justify the cost otherwise.
If anybody knows of somebody looking at buying a Orkish Army that is very heavy on the Goblins, let me know... Good price to a good home.

After giving it some thought... I think that I will forego the idea of painting a Wood Elf army and instead go with the Bretonnians. I already have two boxes of knights and a unit of Bowmen. I doubt I could sell them and I don't want to keep buying pieces of an army. A friend of mine at work was doing Bretonnians and her zeal for the army infected me. I should have gone with the Elves from the start. Oh well..... So what is the word??

I already have a Lizardman army and don't really want have the money to start up a new army right now. However, I have a whole ton of painting that needs to get done so I'm hoping to push that forward with our little escalation league thing.
Do we want a formal league thing/or just get together and play? I'm kind of digging a "Capaign" idea. Maybe a map or story depending on the number of participants. Which brings up the question "Who wants in?". Brian? MattDroz? Other people who are interested but didn't want to jump in to the deep end?
