Sage’s Alliance 2-15-2006
The war-weary party stands at he colossal doors, listening to the rhythmic breathing of some obviously large creature. Kadia checks for traps, and as she completed he task, a green mist swirls about. Before Jolie can cast her Wind spell, she sees a flash of green eyes, and they drift off into darkness. When they awaken, they are all together walking through a green glade. The silver moonlight allows for them to see a beautiful lady walking out of the forest, clad all in white. She has a stern look, but is almost estheral in appearance. She speaks in a melodic voice:
“My children, the Wise and Powerful know of your struggle and efforts. We have not been able to help you, so please accept this small gift. Jolie, Mormideon gives you peace, and rest. We hope you find the strength to carry on.”
With that, she disappears.

The Vengeance of Vemathrax ~
The alliance wake up on the floor with the mist disappearing and the eyes fading. The doors are still closed, and the breathing continues.
Sage, tired of scurrying around like field mice, jumps up and kicks in the door. The large dragon opens one eye and stretches lazily.
Vermathrax wants to hear no explanation about forges and how the fellowship is not interested in treasure. He gets up, exhibiting his full form for all to see. Charming for a dragon, Vermathrax adamantly states that no one enters the forge. Expecting the attack, he acts almost bored as we attempt to take him down. He yawns and asks “What is this? Death of a thousand papercuts?” Jolie creates Waterwall in an attempt to thwart the impending fire, but to no avail. His breath vaporizes it, and his vengeance is swift and brutal.
He meanders to Carly and takes off her entire arm in one fell nip. Slurping it down, he then bends down, and before her horrified friends, picks her entire form up and GULP! Down she goes.
Absolutely enraged, they attack with full force. Joie zaps her first shock bolt ever. Correy slices a gash in the side of the beast, and a dark viscous blood spews forth. The blood acts like a caustic acid that eats through the treasure beneath the wound.
In return, the dragon burns Sage’s arm to a crisp. Jolie wakes her up and she jumps back into battle. She drives in a cheap shot, and Correy, not to be outdone, tries as well. He misses, and falls into the treasure. He narrowly avoids being smashed by a foot, and finds something for Sage.
“Sage, catch!”
Sage, off guard, catches the huge object thrown at her. It is a magnificent two handed sword (of slaying Dragons). She slices him twice noticeably.
“You bitch,” he hisses.
What internal damage has been done, the fellowship will never know. All they do know is they scattered when the huge beast fell suddenly. Blood poured.
All Sage knows is she has to save Carly. Sage straddles the Dragon and gashes deep into his side. Carly …they think…spews forth. Jolie jumps in and administers the Pargon Berry into her mouth (?). Jolie also gives her some Athelas to help.
Meanwhile, Correy jumps for a door with a glowing symbol. He goes through the door and sees 4 walkways…and a man standing in front of a body. He throws back a dark hood, and the alliance sees that it is Gilrean. “Brother” he says, “they are here.” Through the opening door comes the man who stabbed Correy. His name is Golroan, and he lights the forges. All they do is stand aside and watch as Correy approaches a forge. He holds the Ring over it and eventually drops it.
Gilrean and Golroan clap. Golroan retrieves the Ring from the wrong forge as Gilrean moves to walk away. Correy shrieks “My Precious!” and lunges at Golroan. A hard strike renders Golroan unconscious, and Correy snatches the ring back.
Decimus rises slowly from his slumber. Astounded, Thorgim nail Decimus and his head freezes. They catch him before he falls. Jolie, utterly pissed, zaps a Shockbolt at Gilrean, hissing “I thought you were my friend.” Her second shockbolt completely obliterates Gilrean – her first fatal use of her powers.
His ash still falling, Correy re-dons the Ring, and the alliance presses on carrying Carly (the blob) and Decimus (the zombie).
They travel back to the lift occurs without any problems. After two or three apparitions, they arrive back at the House of Healing.
Decimus has finally passed on, as Carly is feverishly worked on.
Jolie scavenges the healer’s brain about Celenbrimborn’s house. All he can say is that it is on the lowest level, and to leave the vaults alone.
He alliance takes the time and hospitality to rest.
