Heya!
Just thought I'd ask of you still play this. I'm in a steady Wednesday rolemaster game, different world, same system.
I've got a Tribe (Think northern waste barbarians) suicide healer, but because of the religion she is she doesnt get the priest or cleric base lists, she's got the paladin ones.
Been playing for a couple years now, although I have to admit I know next to nil from the books. I've never had to buy them as our DM has the whole campaign in databases, and we can print out the various spell lists we need directly.
Lots of fun! Anyways, I figured I'd toss this in to find you if you still play Rouschkateer, and wanted someone to discuss argue/game mechanics with.

When we get to play it is very far and few between games. The last one was about three months ago, and I have been lax in writing up the logs. I may do those tomorrow to catch up.
I have the Player's handbook, and have become very well-versed in the intrinsics of the game, so I will be more than happy to discuss anything you throw out at me.
The last game we had scheduled was on Tuesday the 21st, and like has happened before, one of the game members was sick, so I just hung out and generated new characters for a Star Trek game we are going to play once the campaign is over. I was so damn frustrated, as we are at a very good part of the game now, and can't wait to kick some Nazgul ass.
Your game sounds awesome....feel free to post your own game logs, if you wish, in whatever format you want. I am always willing to talk MERP with someone, since it is very hard to find anyone interested in the game anymore.
Does your GM incorporate house rules, or is he strictly from the books? Mine likes to use some house rules, so we don't get bogged down in spell casting times to prepare and cast...things like that.

game logs... I could try, but we'll see what happens. Some of our players have 2-3 3" binders full of cross indexed notes, and we still dont know whats going on half the time. I'll try and do a couple background posts with world info and our place in it before I jump into actual party details.
For house rules we dont muck much with the core rules, such as the prepare/cast times, or magic ritual danger levels or things like that, and I know the GM adheres to the crit tables like a writ from god. We've had players killed by the level 1 skeleton getting in a lucky shot, but conversely, we've survived going up against Lord level (25+) undead fire giants with a level 5 party thanks to the same tables.
What the GM has done though is used houserules to create a handful of new races, and the complexity of the world we play in is stunning (stun 3?). I know he uses Tablesmith to come up with some pretty outre encounter tables, and has over 2000 detailed NPCs in the database.
What really makes the game fun though is his statement that the "NPCs think they're player characters." None of the encounters are tailored to our level or abilities, and the NPCs all have reasons for what they do that are very very rarely related to us as characters. Its up to us to look at the job we've been offered or stumbled into, and determine if its too tough to survive, or too easy to be worth the effort.
Its too bad that yours is running sporadically. I've read through the logs you've got up, and it sounded very interesting. I want to hear more!
I know I've got some of the books as pdfs, gifted from one of the other players in the campaign, although I havent read through them much. Mostly just examining some of the classes, and spell lists. When I get home tonight I can see if I can find that disc, and which ones I've got. I'm more than willing to share if there's anything on that list that interests you.

Much to the dismay of the hard core "rules-lawyers", we are modified a little from the core rules. The GM didn't allow any deaths in the first 2 levels, since he thought we were just beginning, and he didn't want to scare us off, but now, oh yeah, crits are crits, deal with it. I'm glad I am the healer of the group; I have gotten very good at using my herbs and spells to heal unlucky wounds.
ALso, he doesn't put us up against anything we "can't" handle...it will just be tougher to do. Like the Nazgul we are going up against. It may be a level 50, and we are level 8, but we will just have to use our player knowledge, luck, and a bit of strategy to bring down the Bad Boy. But he doesn't do that often. He won't give us something to deal with that he knows we can't handle, and as the story reads so far, all of the "campaigns" are strategically linked together. It's why I decided to make it into a novel (all of our adventures). Once it is done, I will link it here, or post it somehow, for anyone's enjoyment. i hope it reads almost like a Tolkein novel, but without the long detailed accounts.
Feel free to email me the list, or post some of it here. I am always ready to jump into another MERP fan's realm, they are too far and few between, unless you go to a *shudder* fan mailing list.
