So, I finally got my children brainwas....er, traine....um....interested (yes, yes, that's it) in playing MERP.
So I made some modifications to the rules (giving them a few more hit points, modifying the criticals so they don't immediately die, lowering the hp on enemies), and they ran their first adventure on Monday.
I was impressed with how quickly they learned the rules, and how to play. I didn't have to remind them to add up their roll with their DB/OB, and they actually had fun.
It isn't a campaign, just something I made up on the spot. They took out 3 1st level Orcs (one of their characters suffering some injuries), and 2 wolves. Pretty cool, if you ask me, to introduce another generation into the twisted realm of gaming....and female to boot!

Thanks for the support!
I'm thinking of cheating a little and using the game I am currently involved in, starting at the beginning. I think it will be interesting to see if they make the same decisions my party made.

I have heard of starting them young, but.... Besides, I don't know if they make a D20 that big. (Ok, so they do. See them here )

So the second game has been played.
I have a campaign started that I just kind of "winged" without realizing how cool it could be. I had them slay some Orcs, and find a blue sappire type gem. A 5th level Ranger came along, saw the slaughter, and advised them to make their way to a near by Inn.
Once there, I had them talk to the Ranger (Darrin), who befriended them and told them he was on a quest to retrieve a precious jewel from a ruined castle a few day's ride away.
The girls' were smart, and never mentioned the gem to him, and told him they would accompany him on his journey.
Where it goes from there, I don't know yet. I am playing around wth what kind of "power" this gem can have in the MERP world, and what it would mean on a larger scale, should they do something wrong with it.
The girls are reallt getting into character, which is nice, because they actually didn't base them off of themselves. They are developing an emotional and physical person that is so different than themselves....so cool to see.
