*yeah, I know, posting back logs first*
The party awakens the next day in the healer's humble isolated home, fully rested.
They eat, and after his words of advice, warning not to touch what isn't theirs, he ushers them out of his door into the deserted city once more. They tie themselves back together and head to the right. Even after the much needed rest, the illusions wear on the party's will to go on. Massacres and mayhem play out before their eyes. Soon they are numb to the effects, until a deafening shriek pierces the fog-enshrouded city. A large black winged creature comes into view. Still hesitant as to whether this is real or not, the party readies their weapons. A voice, small but determined speaks from the ranks.
"Stop," says Correy.
The image disappears.
They near the fambled home of Celemborn, noting a bridge to cross. As Sage nears thebridge, an Elf appears. it is Celemborn himself, in full glory. sage, tired of the mental games the city has played on her, attempts to walk through him. A deafening BOOM thunders from the contact, and Sage fall into a dream. She is confronted with Galadriel, the Lady of the Forest. She warns Sage to watch her arrogance, as some of the beings here are real and deem respect. Sage awakens, shaken, and the party ventures more cautiously now.
They cross a walkway, through a door and down some stairs. Silvery strands seem to decorate the banisters of the stairwell, and Jolie warns to be ready for spiders. Finally, after heading down what seems like miles of stairs, they come to a set of large ornate doors that seem to be constructed from glass, but not quite.
Sage uncerimoniously pushes the doors open. Kadia hears scuttling in the darkness, as the dust settles. Thorgim uses his night-vision helm to see a large room with a gray carpet and a 3 foor black marble pedestal with a crystal orb perched on top of it.
Unsure of what may be revealed in the light, the party light lamps. Correy steps to the pedestal and in a bored tone, places his hand upon the orb and says "Light".
The entire house fills with soft white light. Kadia pleads with Coprrey not to use the Ring for such foolishness. Jolie hears something "scritching" from above, and before she can warn Sage, a large silver object drops down on top of the Warrior.
It seems more mechanical than alive and begins wrapping a silken web around her.
One crashes down next to Correy. Yet another tangles with Thorgim and Kadia.
A brief battle ensues, but all are destroyed. Cogs, wires and oil is strewn about the floor as the party is fixed up by Jolie and peels the webs off of them. They meander around a while, when the go through a door that has a room and a lever. Kadia shrugs, and pulls the lever. The floor drops from under them, like an elevator at a sickening speed, and the Alliance speeds downwards. It lurches to a sickening stop. In fron of them is a single door. The push through it, into a room. This room is immense. Thorgim states it was used for smithing, as they revel in the artifacts here. It opens to another large room beyond. There is a dais there, and a forge. Hope is about to bloom to the weary party when Jolie hears more "scritching" above. This time they are ready as the Mother Spider, as big as a horse, lunges at them. her time is short with the party, however, as Jolie uses her Shock Bolt and electrifies her.
Kadia and Correy walk together to the edge of the forge. Correy takes the Ring from his shirt. Kadia grasps his free hand.
"It is time, Correy" she whispers.
Correy looks at her, and his eyes flash with an unfamiliar greed.
"Correy," she urgently presses, "let go."
Correy hold the Ring out and hesitates. Jolie holds her breath, and for a moment, the world seems to stop. Correy turns around, but before Kadia can react, he smiles, and drops it into the forge.
There is a huge resounding BOOM as molten lava pulses. The Ring finally dissolves, and a louder, more resonating BOOM is heard deep deep down. The force knocks the party down, and dust begins to rain down from the ceiling.
A loud, gutteral "NOOOOOoooooo" comes from within.
Correy seems more himself, but not quite so. kadia helps him to his feet as the Alliance leave the house of Celemborn. They walk through the city, where the sun shines brilliantly. making their way back to the Healer's house, they rest there before heading out of the cursed city.
On the way home, a man infiltrates their camp. Sage, tired of such things that keep them from home, interrogates the man. He speaks curtly.
"You must get back to Caras Marad. Things are bad there. I will take your friend, Carly, to Rivendell, where she will heal."
The party accepts this and lets them man take her, despite Jolie's protests.
Breaking camp in the morning, they continue their long journey home. After quite a few days, they return to familiar paths. But Kadia sees something wrong, and uses an Invisibility Ring to scout around. The entire city is under seige by 5 Orc camps, and one MOL camp. Exhausted, they camp and plan what to do.
