The morning after the seige, the party sleeps well into the afternoon. When they awake, more refreshed than they had been in months, they notice something wrong with Correy. He is delirious and has broken out in a sweat from an unknown fever. As he laspes in and out of consciousness, Jolie and Kadia take their friend to Meg. Jolie and Meg confer, and decide it is an effect from holding and using the Ring for such a long time (Black Breath). And that is only what will tell if he will get better or not, is time.
Kadia is hard to console as she hears this news, but is determined to finally rid the area of the evil effects of the Dwarven Nazgul entombed to the East. She hoped that one that is done, her friend will get better.
Jolie smiles, and hope she isn't wrong.
One night, as the party is relaxing at home, there is a knock at the door. Sage cringes at this, as it usually means there is some crisis and need to go. She answers the door, ready to tell the visitor to bugger off.
A Dunedain man stands before her, completely decked out in full battle regalia. His name is Corian, and with him are Rena, Lalaina, Kashak and Larek. Sage notices his familiarity. He had come to her before and sparred with her. He offers their services to help them rid the Nazgul, since Correy and Carly are out of service. A new Mage, Mandryl, also comes after hearing their intruging tale at the Inn last night.
They set out the next day. The 2 1/2 day trip passes by with no problems, but as they near the entrance to the Valley, they notice a rock pile has obscured the entrance. Seeing no viable way around it, they decide to cross the river by making a haphazard bridge. Kadia is quick to skirt over the bridge, as she is deft and light. Once across, an undead MOL comes from out of the mist. She quickly removes its head, and warns the others.
The others make short work of coming across, through conventional ways or not, and they begin the trek down the dusty trail. Soon, 15 ghoulish MOLs pounce on them from the fog. The new Alliance make short work of them, and burns the bodies to prevent their return. As they boast of their skills, Kadia notices 11 more ahead, and as she warns them, she spots 8 coming from behind. Once those are destroyed, the bodies are burned as well. Jolie makes quick work of healing the minor injuries. Sage wants to hurry, but Jolie warns that they need their full strength for the battle ahead.
After another brief attack by yet more undead MOLs, they reach the cemetary. Much to Jolie's dismay, the obelisk that had Mormideon's eyes is toppled, face down into the Earth. They roll over the obelisk, but two vacant holes greet them. Jolie mourns the loss of her friend, but vows to avenge him.
The door to the tomb is cracked, with the edges clearly visible. The runes no longer glow. Thorgim bangs on the door to the tomb with one of the Warhammers, but nothing happens. He tries this two more times, to no avail. As he rears back for a forth attempt, the door opens. He goes inside, where it promptly slams shut, leaving the others behind. He hears an etheral voice calling to him, and, against his will, he moves within the chamber. He exits the room into another corridor.
The Alliance, stunned, pries open the door and Corian slips through, and goes after Thorgim. Thorgim is in a room with two large constructs. He is about to take one more step when Corian catches up to him and shakes him free of the spell. Thorgim shakes himself awake as a trap opens before him.
Finally, the rest of the party get through the massive tomb doors, but another set crashes closed, leaving Corian and Thorgim in the room with the constructs. Thorgim smashes the doors with his Warhammer, and annihilates them. The Alliance comes through and begins beating down the two constructs. Sage recieves a broken leg for her efforts, but finally, they are taken down as gears oil and metal pices litter the stone floor. Jolie works feverishly on Sage's leg, hating the feel of being trapped underground.
