<OOC> Thanks Simon!</OOC>
Alusair notices the young cleric at the doorway to the great hall and the reaction on Lith's face. It's not one of danger, however, so she motions for the guards to bring him over. As he approaches the table, you get a better look at him. He's tall and half-elven, carrying a heavy mace on his belt and a shield on his back. The shield's herald is of a pair of silver female eyes surrounded by seven silver stars.
He comes up to the table and bows before Alusair, lowering his head. "Princess, I am here to serve you." He then raises his head and looks directly at Lith!
She has slunk deep into her chair, trying to hide from the young priest's earnest expression and the questioning looks from everyone else around the table. Alusair's eyes seem to be gleaming with laughter as she tells a server that she, the prince and Caladnei, along with there guests, will retire to the library. She then turns to everyone, "I know I have to hear this story in full!"
She takes Lith's arm on her right and the young cleric's on her left and leads them out a back door of the hall to a more private location. Caladnei looks at the rest of you and beckons you to follow, "I'll take care of the nobles," she smiles.

Semkirk leans over to Lilth and whispers to her in an act of utter seriouness, diplomacy and tact. "Sit up straight, look it in the eye and stop acting like a long hair cat at a fireball contest. What the fat pigs think doesn't matter. What we think does. I, for one, defend the people who are my friends. It's my foes that need to look after the teeth."

<OOC>BTW, vchan, if you'd like to join in, I'm still collecting characters from Simon and Sunshine. We're at level 9 and have two fighter-types, a rogue and The Dentist. And, if it's not obvious, the cleric's a cohort to Lith... (Yay medic that doesn't affect XP splits!)</OOC>

As you enter the library, you see that the servants have been kind enough to provide wine, sliced rothè, bread and cheeses, in case you didn't get enough of the meal before the interruption. Alusair waves everyone to take a seat and, after everyone does so, waves to the newcomer to speak.
"Your majesty, my name is Voronwë, a cleric of Selûne, and advisor to his highness, King Ashe Ravenheart. I have come here in search of his daughter Lithôniel Ravenheart, after hearing of her trials in the Vast Swamp. He wishes to ensure that his daughter is in safe hands and wants to ease any concerns of his traveling companions."
With every word the cleric speaks, Lith seems to sink deeper into the chair she occupies, her hood pulled up and hiding her face more and more.
"The king worries because the princess was sent merely as an envoy to your majesty's court to broker some trade agreements, and disappeared when she ran afoul of the imposters in Wheloon, not to be heard from until word reached us that she was here as a hero to the crown."
Alusair looks to Lith, a bemused smile tugging at her lips, "Is what he says true? Are you Ashe's daughter?"
From beneath her hood, you can hear her take a deep breath and sigh loudly, before standing up from her seat and facing everyone. "Yes, it is true. I should have known that having a little adventure for a change would not have lasted as long as it has." She turns to the young cleric, her regal bearing becoming apparent as she straightens her shoulders and looks at him with daggers in her eyes. "But you can turn right around and go back to my father and tell him that I shall not be returning soon! This is more important that a trade agreement, and what we are doing here will affect the world as we know it."
She stands before the cleric, her small 5'7" frame imposing the taller 6'2" half-elf enough that he takes a half step back. "These are my friends, my companions, and we have undertaken an oath to get to the bottom of this dilemma and set things right. And if my father doesn't remember what an oath like that is like, maybe I should call up Uncle Rolf to remind him..."

Hawke stands quietly watching as the mini-drama unfolds. He is taken back by being in the presence of royalty.
As Lith confronts Voronwë.... Hawke smiles to himself. With her strength of character, is not surprised that a royal life could not contain her.

Semkirk just sniffs with distain. "This is what had you cowering in your seat? Hmmph. At least the peacock here let us know that the Bad Guys know we're coming and where to find us right now... I knew that guy with the powder was working for them. Powder my skull will he, well not anymore." He mutters and stuff some bread and cheese in his mouth. "Beshides Shremkirk Entroprezes hash," finishes chewing, "already taken the job of clearing out this nest of nasty things. Of course you can tag along if you like. I need another mule to stick my loot on. And it looks like you need some dental work done. I can try out the new tools I got. You don't feel much pain do you? I prefer my vi... patients to be aware to tell me what hurts."

Racha rolls her eyes at the drama. The only way to ease my concerns is through coin, Racha thinks.

The young cleric takes a step back from Lith and raises his hands.
"Milady, I don't think you understand! I'm not here to bring you home, I'm here because your father wants me to lend you a hand! He knows the importance of what you are doing and is, if I may say, quite proud of your actions. I'm to accompany you on your journey to make sure you don't get overwhelmed."
He steps over to his pack, still talking to all of you. "He's also instructed me to bring these with me. They might help you in the coming days. Most of these are from his old equipment, so do be careful with their care! They are considered to be treasures of the crown!"
He steps over to Hawke, "This was the sword of the king in his early days. It's name is Dagnir, and it is a mighty blade in the hands of another undead slayer like our king. "
<Bane (undead) Bastard sword +1 (adds additional +2 to attack, +2d6 to damage against Undead)>
"Careful of the gem-crystal in the hilt. It is removable, but as long as it's attached to the weapon, you are more powerful against the hated foe."
<Truedeath Crystal, Greater - Add +1d6 addtional damage to undead, acts as a Ghost Touch weapon, can sneak attack and Critical undead as if they were living>
He rummages in his back again, pulling out a small sized rapier, "This belonged to the friend of the crown. He gave his life in defense of an attack against our land and, like Dagnir, it is a hated weapon of the cursed."
<Ghoststrike Rapier +1 - Ghost touch (can hit incorporeal creatures) and Ghost Strike (can make sneak attacks and Critical against undead as if they were living)>
He turns to the mage, a little unnerved about what he may want to do to his teeth. He presents a staff that is looks like coiled wire, capped at both ends by mottled brown gemstones. "This is a Runestaff of Transportation. It's able to help all of use get around quickly, which I think we may need to do in the days to come."
<use any of these spells 3/day each by expending an previously memorized spell of the same level: Blink, Dimension Door, Teleport>
Finally, he turns back to Lith. Pulling from his pack is a short-sword made of adamantine, "This is -"
"Stonecutter." Lith says, a look of awe on her face. She takes the hilt and swings it around. You can almost hear a hum as it cuts through the air. "I can't believe he would part with this!"
<Stonecutter - Adamantine Sundering Shortsword + 2>
"As you say, milady, this is an important quest you are about to undertake. Your father wants to make sure you will stay safe. And the best way to do that is preparation."
He then looks at the Steel Regent, bowing his head. "I believe we have some travel plans to make?"
