Players (so far): Brian, Simon, Phil (post-wedding), Jess (post-wedding) and Dean (?). If anyone else is interested, let me know.
Okay, here's where we start talking the basics.
Books to be provided by the DM:
Each player is allowed to bring one (1) book outside of the ones listed above that they can pull material from. So, if you want to play a character or use feats not in one of the above books, you'll need to bring that book with you. If you want to use a feat/spell/etc. that's in a book that someone else brings, you may, but you'll have to reference their book during gameplay. This cuts down on the amount of table space you'll need to take up (and also makes it so the laptops won't be needed as much).
Races allowed:
Please note, if you choose races that are not common in Faerun, then you will run into distrust and hostility. NPC attitudes will be automatically adjusted to one level below the normal level listed in regards to your character and any persons seen associated with that character. Also, if you choose Changeling or Shifter, then the Eberron book will be the single book you will be allowed, and you will only be able to use the racial feats listed in the book, no classes, equipment or other feats will be allowed.
Character classes allowed:
Prestige Classes allowed
Generation rules
Building using the Point-Buy rules per the DMG. Each character has 32 points (High-powered Campaign) with which to purchase their Ability scores.
Characters are starting at Level 4. I'll be using the new method of Equipping PCs from the Magic Item Compendium. We can go over that in more detail as we get further along generation. If you have the MIC, just post the list of items you've chosen.
Characters will be assumed to have known each other for the length of their adventuring careers. So introduction will not be necessary. In the case of Phil & Jess' characters, if we begin playing before they can join, with their permission, I'll run them as NPCs until they can join. Otherwise, we have methods of getting them into the story...
All right, start chatting away. Once you have a good character build, post it as a separate thread so it will be easier for me to keep track of and to make notes on.
