Ahhhh... The glory of a system made for the fans. I currently have my book on the way in the mail from Paizo. And, sometime on the morn of the 14th, the pdf will be made available on their site ( paizo.com) and, I believe it will be free to download (that's the general rumor out there, not sure if it's been confirmed). Yep, beta release, followed by a YEAR of testing by the fans and the final release made next year about this time. Wonder if GenCon will be around this time next year to see the launch.

By the way, can I just say that all of the Adventure Path books have been incredible? Right now, the latest six-issue series is about drow attempting to pull an asteroid down on the world to create a global black-out. And then, the next six-part series will include, in each part, a short story by Elaine Cunningham (of Forgotten Realms fame). And yes, I have some insomnia right now... why do you ask?

The two downloads are the Table of Contents for the PFRPG and two pages from the Race chapter, showing the artwork and some of the text.

PaizoCon was this weekend in Seattle (and if it wasn't a 24 hour drive, I would have gone - Some last minute cancellations meant people were GIVING away tickets on the messageboards), and it sounds like it was a resounding success! A thing of beautyI'm not sure, but I *think* the Core book is bigger than the Ptolus book...

So, they just announced that the PDF for the Core Rulebook will be available on the Paizo site as of August 13th and they will be selling it for $9.99. I had signed up for the subscription service to get the book, but I'm canceling that now. It was going to cost me $42.49 + $8.25 S&H to get the hardcover and pdf as the subscription, which I thought was worth it since the PDFs usually go for about $30. But with this drop in the PDF price, I can get the hardcover through Amazon for $31.49 and free S&H. That means that buying the PDF separately for $8.50 (I get a reduced cost on the PDF since I subscribe to the Adventure Paths), brings my total up to $39.99. Pathfinder RPG at Amazon

Y'know, there's reasons I love Paizo other than just producing Pathfinder. They are, quite possibly, the best RPG company I've ever seen. Take THIS as example. They are extremely well known for their customer service. Not only does the CEO of the company respond to a random post, on a SUNDAY, but she makes sure to rectify the issue as soon as possible. Oh, and her icon is a South Park icon. That is cool beyond words...
